Detox Diet Tips


There are many ways to detoxify the body, this time Dietvana will focus on ways to detoxify the body by eating healthy, fasting and hydrating daily.


Detoxifying the body in terms of diet can mean removing toxic particles that enter the body in different ways such as:


Pesticides in foods such as fruits and vegetables.

Decrease the mercury in the blood that enters when eating certain foods.

Eliminate toxins from the environment that enter when breathing.

Eliminate chemical toxins that are hidden in many processed products.

Remove excess toxins that the body produces through the digestion and absorption of food.


But do you wonder how we can detoxify ourselves in the correct way?

Dietvana recommends the following 12 ideas to start this year on the right foot towards a new and healthy 2023:


  1. It starts with a home clean: clear your kitchen and pantry of unhealthy and processed foods. Buy fresh, natural foods to replace them.

  2. Drink plenty of water: Water is essential to help cleanse the body and flush out toxins. Try to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. The water can be infused with fresh vegetables, herbs or fruits.

  3. Incorporate vegetables and fruits: increase your consumption of fresh vegetables and fruits, preferably organic, since they are rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that help detoxify the body.

  4. Leafy green vegetables: Leafy green vegetables, such as spinach, chard, and broccoli, are rich in chlorophyll, which helps cleanse the liver and remove toxins from the body. You can prepare them on the grill, steamed, in salads or smoothies.

  5. Berries – Berries, such as strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries, are rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, which help strengthen the immune system and detoxify the body. You can enjoy them fresh or frozen as a dessert or in smoothies.

  6. Citrus fruits: Citrus fruits, such as lemon, orange, and grapefruit, are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants that help detoxify the liver and improve digestion. You can add them to juices, water or salads.

  7. Seeds and nuts: Seeds and nuts, such as chia seeds, walnuts, and almonds, are rich in fiber and healthy fats that help regulate intestinal transit and eliminate toxins from the body. You can add them to your salads, yogurts or as a snack.

  8. Legumes: Legumes, such as beans, peas, and chickpeas, are rich in fiber and protein that help regulate intestinal transit and detoxify the body. You can prepare them in soups, stews or as a side dish.

  9. Fish: Fish, especially salmon, tuna, and sardines, are rich in omega-3s and proteins that help detoxify the body and improve cardiovascular health. You can eat them 3 times a week. You can cook them on the grill, in the oven or steamed.

  10. Garlic and onion: Garlic and onion are rich in sulfur compounds that help detoxify the liver and improve digestion. You can add them to sauces, stews or salads.

  11. Green Tea: Green tea is rich in antioxidants and catechins that help detoxify the body and improve cardiovascular health. You can enjoy hot or cold, alone or with a little honey

Tip:

  • Exercise regularly: Exercise helps improve circulation, which makes it easier to remove toxins from the body.

  • Get enough sleep: sleep is essential for the recovery and detoxification of the body. Make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep a night.
